I can kind of forgive Aerosmith to some degree.
I personally think that Jaded was a great track but unfortunatley the rest of the album sounded as if it had been written as the incidental music for Friends.
yeah plenty of misses but a few diamonds in the shit heap. Unlike the Stones output which remains firmly buried in the pong of too much money and very little effort.

Paul and Bruce were actually nice guys. I got
the only KISS thing I like - double platinum,
double album tape thing, full of old bollox
like 'She' - signed, and have never tried flogging
it (e.g. on fleaBay) for some reason.
For $400 a pop, I'd want 20% of Keith's booze
rider.

Damn I remember Colliers one night in Merthyr `Koolers`. It had just opened and we had just walked in and as you do, head straight for the bar. Kiss came on and that was it... I turn around to see Colliers dancing like a fucking fairy on his own on the dance floor lol!

i agree totally on the stones. they should have given it up a while ago. i have never seen the stones live and i can honestly say, unless they are playing in my backyard, literally, i will never go see them now. (and the stones are my favorite band of all time so that's saying a lot) the amazing thing is, unlike aerosmith, the stones, no matter how much crap they continue to release, still have to be considered one of the greatest rock bands in history (the greatest in my opinion) where aerosmith, with each release tarnish their once legendary status.
i would say Emotional Rescue for sure was the last great Stones album, maybe Tattoo You on a good day but that's iffy. just look at the classics they released up until Emotional Rescue.

A fab wig dittie, involving.. you guessed it Saxon.Liitle Angels had been opening for Van Halen , 93 Sheffield arena. Da Ragz were there liggin about, as where most of Saxon. Im chatting with Graham Oliver , Saxons guitarist when he points over at Toby Jepson and says, "Has that lad got a wonky eye or summat?"
I shrugged and said not as far as I knew. Oliver then shakes his head and says, "I was chatting to him ten minutes ago and the C..t always seems to be looking at me head. I thought maybe he was boss eyed!"
This ripple of muted sniggers went around the room in a second before someone yelled over. "He cant take his eyes off your Syrup mate!"
Graham Oliver just went ballistic. He marched over to Toby Jepson, all the while yanking at his own barnet. "Fookin wig eh? You think I wear a wig do yer, yer wanker! I dont wear a Fookin wig!
The room went silent as he wandered back over to his drink, face like a beetroot. Just as he picks up his pint, this voice chirps up "Fookin Good glue, that is Graham"
The room just erupted in sprayed beer as Oliver stormed out.

Tonpandy Naval Club was one of the most feared gigs in the country, belive me. The first time we went there we had heard some horror stories of bands been bottled off and the like. When we walked in the first time Mark the speed teethed PA man says Have you played here before? No, we replied as one. Two things you need to know then. says Mark... Dont try to pull any of the local birds and dont insult the Welsh. Fuckin marvellous hospitaility.

Naval Club was disconcerting for many reasons.
Back stage: a 2ft x 2ft hovel. Large enough for
an anorexic mouse, but that's about it. The
last time RR played there, I interviewed them
(post-gig) for some Aussie fanzine. I've still
got the bootleg/interview somewhere.
The bootleg is funny [I've mentioned this here
before, Ian.] RR did their regular set, then
went off for a breather. Some drunk ambles on
stage, grabs the mic, and mumbles: 'Fuck you,
and fuck your band. Bomp! (mic hitting the floor)'
Ian then comes and stage, and quite politely says:
'What's your problem, my friend?' Classic stuff.
The most disconcerting thing of it all, I suppose,
is that, the way the Naval Club's tables were
Bingo Hallishly laid out (very proletarian,
very under-class) down the sides of the room, it
left this oppressively expansive space in the
middle, which people (i.e. Slags) found a bit
insurmountable to pollute. It took gallons and
gallons of beer to get them to dance, and when
the did, they would do it handbag-ishly, facing
each other, as opposed to the band. Weird. It
was a rock gig, for fuck's sake.
Oh well. The beer was cheap. My memories of post-
RR gigs, ending up at some Slag's (the capital-
isation is important) house in Tonypandy, in-
variably revolve around toilet bowls, people
banging the door shouting 'You OK, mate?' and
then the dreaded multi-train journey home:
fucked long blond hair, cowboy boots, hangover
glamour, little kids perplexed, headache, headache,
worries over the boarded-up beleaguered-ness of
my surroundings (Tonypandy's a shithole), and
eventually back to bed.
Wouldn't change it for the world. [img]smile.gif[/img]
